YOU CAUGHT YOUR KID PLAYING WITH MATCHES
Luckily nothing has been damaged yet, but without saying a word, he knows he’s done wrong. In fact, he knew he shouldn’t have been playing with fire all along. Although he knew he shouldn’t have, he didn’t know why.
Like you, your son can be stubborn at times and tends to appreciate the gravity of the situation better when someone of authority is speaking. Knowing this, you decide to involve your best friend who happens to be a Fire Fighter.
He sits your son down and explains that his behavior is not only dangerous to himself, but its dangerous to all around him. He continues to elaborate and explain that his behavior could even prove to be fatal.
Freshly charged with the full appreciation of what could/will happen if he steps out of line again, your son decides to honor the oath he give you as his parents when he says “I promise to follow the rules”.
“The President, and government, will only control the militia when a part of them is in the actual service of the federal government, else, they are independent and not under the command of the president or the government. The states would control the militia, only when called out into the service of the state, and then the governor would be commander in chief where enumerated in the respective state constitution.”
– ALEXANDER HAMILTON, The Federalist Papers, essay No. 69, 1787 – 1788.
